Applications for robotics and automation teacher workshops are open for primary school teachers

on 21 February 2018

The Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) is inviting Romanian primary school teachers of STEM-related subjects to apply for two robotics and automation workshops, which will be held in May and June at ESA’s ESEC centre located in Belgium. The deadlines to apply are 9 April and 20 April 2018 respectively.

The first robotics and automation workshops will take place on 22 – 23 May, while the second one will be held on 4 – 5 June.

During the two days, teachers will learn how to use space robotics and automation (Raspberry Pi) in the context of curricular subjects such as physics and technology, and will discover and master new tools and inquiry-based practices for STEM teaching and learning at school.

Inspired by real ESA space missions, participants will learn about the different kinds of expertise and skills necessary to make a space project successful, and will be given hints about possible science and technology careers.

For the duration of the workshop, accommodation, catering, and local transportation will be organised, booked, and paid by ESA’s Education Office. Travel expenses to Belgium will be covered up to a maximum of 200 € per teacher.

Details about the registrations and workshops can be found here.
