This event is organized by SEREN4 in close cooperation with the European Commission and the Research Executive Agency. The Information day focuses on the first calls under Cluster 3, the rules for participation and the horizontal aspects, all presented by the EC & REA officers. These calls offer new research funding opportunities to research institutions, universities, industries, SMEs, civil society organizations, practitioners and other security stakeholders. The Security Mission Information & Innovation Group (SMI2G), consisting of SEREN4, EARTO Security & Defence research Working Group, EOS, IMGS, ECSO and ENLETS, is organizing a two-day event to discuss the upcoming 2021 Civil Security for Society calls of Horizon Europe. The SMI2G event is structured around several interesting keynote speeches, panel discussions and a brokerage event. The launch event of the Report “Science for Disaster Risk Management 2020: acting today, protecting tomorrow" will be held on line on 23 March 2021 (3-5 pm) with the aim of providing accurate and updated information on the consequences that disasters have on key assets of society (population, economic sectors, critical infrastructures, environment and cultural heritage) and how these can be managed. Based on all the information collected into the report by more than 300 experts, a set of recommendations are provided to four target groups of society (policymakers, practitioners, scientists, citizens) in order to effectively reduce disaster risk in the EU.
