The official visit of the Romanian delegation to the United States of America, 6-14 January 2014

The President and CEO of the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), Marius-Ioan Piso and the Minister Delegate for Higher Education, Scientific Research and Technological Development, Mihnea Costoiu attended a meeting with Charles F. Bolden, NASA Administrator, as part of the official visit of the Romanian delegation in the United States of America, between 6 and 14 January 2014.

The Romanian delegation presented Romania’s space research achievements and the benefits of its involvement in the Optional Programmes of the European Space Agency (ESA). During the meeting, the delegates also talked about the cooperation between ROSA and NASA in areas such as: interplanetary exploration, nano-satellites and space applications for agriculture or for disaster monitoring.

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden expressed the United States’ openness to support Romanian space research and to have NASA experts participate in the design and implementation of space research projects stipulated in The Romanian Research Strategy for 2014-2020.
