The Moon Village Association comprises approximately 220 members from more than 39 countries and 25 Institutional members around the globe, representing a diverse array of technical, scientific, cultural and interdisciplinary fields. Its goal is the creation of a permanent global informal forum for stakeholders like governments, industry, academia and the public. It aims to foster collaboration for the development of Moon explorations projects, either public or private initiatives. MVA promotes the Moon Village vision that will play a key role in the long-term, peaceful, and sustainable evolution of humankind. In this framework, women will be encouraged to participate in lunar exploration missions and activities. MVA also aims to have a camera mounted on-board a Moon lander, to provide views of the Earth as seen by astronauts, and have the capacity to perform numerous scientific experiments.

The partnership includes a list of activities that will be carried out together, such as cross communication, outreach events such as public talks dedicated to space exploration and moon village; education — hands-on workshops and thematic lectures that motivate young people to pursue career in STEM/STEAM areas; and art — competitions, exhibitions etc.
